Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 7, 2026

SoulWoods is a small, one-maker woodworking studio in Huntertown, Indiana. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit soulwoods.co, place an order or ask about a commission, and what we do with it. The short version: we only collect what we need to build, ship and support your piece, and we never sell your information.

What we collect

  • When you place an order: your name, email address, billing and shipping address, phone number if you provide it, the items you order and any notes you add.
  • When you pay: payments are processed by Stripe. Your card or bank details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our website.
  • When you send a commission inquiry: what you enter in the form, such as your name, email, phone number, budget, timeline and project details.
  • When you email us: your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
  • When you browse: basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected through our hosting, security and site statistics tools.

How we use it

  • To process, build, ship and support your order, and to send receipts and order updates.
  • To respond to commission inquiries and work through the design, quote and build with you.
  • To calculate and collect the sales tax we’re required to charge.
  • To keep the site secure, prevent fraud and understand, in aggregate, how the site is used.
  • To send you news about new pieces only if you choose to sign up. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the services that help us run the shop, and only what each one needs:

  • Stripe processes card and bank payments. If you choose Klarna, Affirm, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay or Link at checkout, that provider handles your payment under its own privacy policy.
  • Shipping carriers such as FedEx receive your name, shipping address and phone number to deliver your order.
  • Our website host and software (GoDaddy, WordPress, WooCommerce and Jetpack) store and run the site, including order records and site statistics.
  • Our email provider (Microsoft 365) sends and stores our email, including receipts and inquiry notifications.
  • Our backup service (Dropbox) stores encrypted copies of the website so it can be restored if something goes wrong.

We may also share information if required by law. We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Cookies

The site uses a small number of cookies to keep your cart working, remember your checkout details during a visit, protect against fraud and count visits. Payment providers may set their own cookies during checkout. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but the cart and checkout may not work without them.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we need them for warranty support, taxes and accounting, typically seven years. Commission inquiries are kept while we’re talking with you and for a reasonable time afterward. Email logs on the website are deleted automatically after 14 days.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it or delete it, except where we need to keep it for legal or accounting reasons. Email contact@soulwoods.co and we’ll take care of it.

Children

Our site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
